Ruth Hernandez: Director of T & T Girls

I trusted Christ as a child. Although I was very young, I understood that I was a sinner and that Jesus paid the price for my sins on the cross.

My home church in Lombard, Illinois, had AWANA, but I was only able to attend occasionally. It was enough, however, to familiarize me with the AWANA program.

I first became an AWANA leader at Central Bible Church eighteen or nineteen years ago. The 2009-2010 AWANA year will be my third year as the director of T & T girls. My husband Mike and both of my daughters are also leaders in AWANA.

Both of my daughters have attended AWANA as long as possible, starting with Cubbies and continuing through high school. The oldest, who is now in college, has received her Citation Award, and the other is on track to receive it as well.

It is truly a joy to work with the girls and leaders and to lead a club where God's Word is taught and girls can have lots of safe fun.
